The GongQing Forest Park 共青国家森林公园 is situated in the Yangpu District of Shanghai, it is bordered by Huangpu River on the east and Jungong Road on the west. Occupying a total space of 1965 mu(131 hectares), it has a grass-and-tree- covered area of 1870.6 mu open to the public. Gonging Forest Park is a holiday resort where people can enjoy its unique natural wildness within the city.

Entrance fee is RMB15 per adult. Children is free of charge. The park's website can be found at http://www.shgqsl.com/

This park has 3 entrances, we chose the east gate since we want to cover the Bamboo Garden as well. Unfortunately Bamboo Garden was under renovation.

This is perhaps one of the right season to visit this park. Since it is autumn, the trees here are covered in yellowish golden color. It tends to give one the sense and feeling that "autumn is here at last!".

The weather was exceptionally fine and we could see blue sky. Not something that one find common in Shanghai. I guess being Northern isolated part of Shanghai, this park is not affected much by the pollution of Shanghai main city?

We wandered around this park and the scenery changes from one part to another.

Benches were provided aplenty for people to sit and relax surrounding the lake in the middle. Some people were pole fishing in the lake.

There are plenty of trees, ferns in this park. This is a place for leisure and also photographic session for couple taking their wedding photos for the album. Imagine the bride having to dress in her thin white wedding dress out in the cold autumn air. All in the name of taking the best photo shot for remembrance.

Since the park is near the edge of the HuangPu River, we came to a place where one could view the river. Huge ships can be seen in the distance docking by the river banks.
There are some monuments in the park. One of the interesting one was the tall model of a China rocket ship. Ethan could not help getting excite and wanting to get near it.

Further we walked we came across a waterfall that had dried up. There are lots of coniferous trees in this sector of the park.

We found lots of horse shit on the ground and only to realize that nearby there is a horse riding club.

People were playing and having picnic in this park. Some even flew the kites.

At last we came to a sector of the park that has mushroom shape shades, statues, etc. Took a few photo shots with these cute mushrooms.

There is even an exercising ground in this park for people to use the equipment available for body build-up.

Finally before we exit the park through South North entrance, we found a forest with lots of coniferous trees. The trees are so dense that one could not get a good glimpse of the sky above.

Overall a tiring but fun day breathing all the fresh autumn air.
